Who We Are

Donkey and Lion is a Canadian based company with a love and passion for creating opportunities for everyone to enjoy the little things by sharing their time through simple greetings.

 

 Sparked from the unconditional love that a twin has for their other half and actualized from their shared passion for the little things in life, this company’s story originates with an end of a chapter.

 

In 2020 the Lion of the team was nearing the end of a lifetime battle with cystic fibrosis. Known as Danger Dan, his ability to breathe was holding him back from life. Danger was in need of a third double lung transplant, a surgery that only one other Canadian had survived. Cue Donkey, Danger’s twin sister and partner in crime in life. Donkey left to stand by her Lion and be a constant comfort while he worked through the yoyo challenges of not only fighting through a life saving surgery, but one during an isolating pandemic in a Toronto hospital. 

 

On good days, the pair were often found making and gifting handmade cards for hospital staff. Happy smiles and sometimes even tears were shared by the recipients of these magical messages .

 

Not all stories have the ending we hope or wish for. After 10 long months of living in an ICU, Danger succumbed to complications. A person larger than life, Danger left a lasting imprint on all those he came across

 

Look at our logo, the imprint Danger left on his Donkey is branded to that ass - a reminder to love this life for all that it is, to celebrate every little thing, and take the time to tell someone what they mean to you. 

 

Donkey and Lion was sparked from the unconditional love that a twin has for their other half and is now the journey of a branded ass sharing a little of it’s lion heart.
